As well as providing a bike hire service we are also a centralised booking office for a number of Outdoor Adventures available throughout Westport and the Clew Bay region. As you can see from the list below there are activities and adventures to cater for everyone. From the relaxed to the high-octane adventure seeker, the possibilities are endless!

The advantage of booking through us is that we do the hard work, all you have to do is give us an idea of what activities you and your group are interested in, your dates and how many of you there are. We will take it from there; all you have to do is show up! Remember there is no surcharge for this service, the cost to you is the same whether booking through us or the activity providers!

Surfing

Go surfing with Clew Bay Outdoors. We provide surfboard hire for only €20 for a 24 hour period. This includes both the surfboard and wetsuit! Contact us today to find out more.

Inishbofin Island Day Tours

Your chance to visit and explore Inishbofin Island. This tour offers a quality, informative and adventurous fun day for all ages and abilities. Departing daily from Westport you will be whisked to your ferry in Cleggan Connemara. A 30 minute crossing will bring you to Inishboffin where you will have the freedom to discover and explore by yourself or as part of the guided walk (included in the price). For an additional charge you may also wish to take the optional boat trip across Inishbofin bay to explore Cromwell Barracks. Depart the island at 5pm and arrival in Westport at 7pm.

Speed Boat Rides

RIB, powered by a 200 horsepower engine will take you across the Atlantic waters to give you unique views of the stunning landscape. As you travel along Irelands only fjord you will experience the history and heritage of this area from Famine villages to modern fish farms.

Wake Boarding

Wake boarding is a cross between snowboarding and water skiing. Imagine if you would, a snowboarder being pulled behind a boat instead of on snow and you have it. The wake produced by the boat gives way to a playground on which you can practice jumps and tricks.

Water Skiing

This activity sees you towed behind a boat on a pair of water skis. At Killary we have a purpose built bar to help beginners get the hang of things before they progress to the rope behind the boat.

Canadian Canoeing

If you like the idea of kayaking but prefer to have company in your boat, then Canadian canoeing may be what you are after. The fun of kayaking but with more company.

Horse Back Riding

All our activities are overseen by a qualified and experienced instructor. Indoors/outdoors or on the beach depending on experience.

Laser Combat

Laser Combat is paintballing without the pain! For those who love games of strategy and stealth there are many different scenarios, all of which take place in a forest setting. Full combats, headgear and the latest infrared technology and custom built units also available.

Fly Fishing

Your own personal guide to fly fishing! With 25 years experience fishing from Lough Mask and the Newport river you can’t go wrong. Cast fishing and fly tighing also available. Boat provided.

Sea Angling

Experience the beauty of Clew Bay with your skipper on the ‘Lady Helen’. Full or half day fishing trips available. A great day out!

Killary Cruise

Purpose built cruise ship designed to offer incredible comfort and safety to our guests as well as offering uninterrupted views of the spectacular scenery which makes the Killary such a unique place to visit.

Wind Surfing

It’s fast, fun and exhilarating. This is an ideal location for the sport as the sheltered harbour ensures you have control over your equipment and can learn in a safe environment.

Bungee Jump

Purpose built tower from which you can jump and plummet from 30 metres towards the ground.

Bridge Jump

If you don’t think you can throw yourself off the top of the bungee this is the slightly ‘easier’ option as it works on a quick release system meaning as soon as all the safety checks have been carried out off you go.

Giant Swing

Do you have the courage and the stomach to leap from this sky frame? If so this is a must try adventure experience.

High Ropes and Zip Wire

A high speed ‘zip’ through the air. This is a great adrenaline pumping activity. You just harness up, clip in and away you go!

Indoor Climbing

Away from the elements, our indoor climbing wall has plenty to keep you busy and is a great place to practice your skills.

Rock climbing and Abseiling

We have 2 rock climbing sites. The first is in Little Killary and the other is on the base of Mweelrea. Your instructor will show you how to climb the exposed rock faces.

Archery

We have top of the range bows. You will be surprise by the power!

Gorge Walking

The natural elements are your challenge in this activity as the wild waters of the west flow down our private gorge.

Sea Kayaking

The sea kayak is a small one man boat with an enclosed cock pit that, using a double sided paddle. These can be taken out to explore the clean deep waters of Clew Bay and Killary Fjord.

Sailing

Hobie Cats are an exciting yet simple craft to sail. Their twin hulls give them great speed combined with great stability. Don’t worry if you are a complete beginner an experienced instructor will take you out on Killary Fjord.
