Where to Cycle
Achill Island Cycle Hub
A beautiful location and a must see for all visitors. Connected to the mainland by bridge and linked to Clare Island by ferry, Achill Island offers the visitor some of the finest scenery, beaches, cliffs and more for you to visit and enjoy at your leisure as well as a unique history. More recent history is represented by the poignantly deserted ‘famine’ villages at Ailt and Slievemore which consist of the remains of over 100 stone cottages - although the island has a long history of human settlement – represented by some amazing sites – that date back over 5000 years. There are 3 designated routes which vary from 12km to 45km although you may also wish to decide your own route!
