Clare Island

A wonderful place to spend a day or three! Located 30km from Westport and 6km from the nearest harbour at Roonagh Quay, Clare Island is 8km long and 5km wide covering over 4000 acres. Once on Clare Island you can investigate the landscapes, scenery and archaeology present - including some of the highest cliffs in Ireland – by bike and foot. If you enjoy the island here you may be interested in taking the ferry from Clare Island to Achill Island to continue your journey. We can book your ferry ticket and either drop you and your bike to the ferry or show you how to get there, the choice is yours!
